MEBS Masterclass Program

Comprehensive, Constructional and Compassionate Practice

The MEBS Masterclass builds on IABA’s Summer Institute, an industry-leading intensive, competency-based training practicum that combined advanced instruction, supervised field experience, non-linear assessment and constructional support planning, individualized feedback, implementation, and follow-up consultation in the Multi-Element Behavior Support (MEBS) model of positive behavior support. The program includes 10 intensive days of advanced, competency-based instruction, independent field practice, assignment development, and over 20 hours of instructor-led direct and vicarious feedback and reflective practice, with optional applied credential pathways extending into a six-month implementation and iteration cycle. The Masterclass includes hands-on learning experience combining synchronous and asynchronous lectures, practice exercises, structured field-based assignments, reflective practice, case presentation, peer consultation, and evaluation. An Intensive Professional Commitment

Trainees should expect the intensive 10-day component to require their full attention, in addition to fieldwork, assigned readings and recordings, workbook activities, and planning outside of live instructional hours.

MEBS Masterclass Program Instructor:

Lori Ann Dotson, PhD, MBA, MEd Chief Knowledge and Learning Officer, IABA Research & Education Foundation - Dr. Dotson is a humanistic behaviorist, constructional practitioner, and unrelenting optimist. As Chief Knowledge and Learning Officer at the IABA Research & Education Foundation, she leads knowledge dissemination and capacity-building in positive behavior support. Her applied background spans clinical and counseling psychology, applied behavior analysis, business administration and education. With nearly 30 years of experience, she has served families and individuals across the lifespan, many impacted by multiple disabilities. As a parent-practitioner and bereaved mother, she bridges lived experience with clinical expertise, applied research and teaching to advance comprehensive and compassionate care. Dr. Dotson has led regional and national clinical and operations teams serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed publications and has been presented at training, academic and professional events in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa.
