The MEBS Organizational Certification is a formal recognition awarded to agencies and services that have successfully embedded the MEBS framework into every layer of their operations, from leadership vision and policy design to frontline practice and everyday decision-making.
Earning this certification demonstrates your organization’s systems, culture, and competence in delivering consistent, high-quality behavior support rooted in the MEBS framework.
Governance & Policy Alignment
- MEBS philosophy is embedded in mission, values, and strategic plans.
- Policies prohibit punitive, aversive, and restrictive practices except as last resort.
- A written MEBS policy guides assessment, planning, and intervention organization-wide.
Development & Competency
- All staff receive initial and ongoing MEBS training; specialists complete advanced training.
- At least one staff member per site holds Level 3 (Organizational Leadership) certification or higher.
- MEBS competency is part of hiring, onboarding, supervision, and performance reviews.
